By using IRL Camera Tools (“the app”), published by Dhondooo, you agree to these terms.
What the app does
IRL Camera Tools is a collection of 15 utilities that use your phone’s camera and sensors: scanning tools (QR, barcode, text recognition, colour picker, document capture), measurement tools (level, ruler, protractor, pitch and roll) and general utilities (flashlight, magnifier, mirror, compass, sound meter, morse code).
Everything runs on your device. The app needs no account and no internet connection.
Measurements are approximate
None of these tools is a certified measuring instrument. They read consumer-grade phone hardware, and the results are estimates suitable for everyday use only. Do not rely on them where accuracy matters — for professional, legal, structural, navigational, medical, occupational-safety or compliance purposes, use properly calibrated equipment.
Specifically:
- Ruler measures on a calibrated pixel scale, not in real 3D space. It is not augmented reality, it has no depth information, and it is only as accurate as the calibration you give it for the distance you are holding the phone at.
- Level, Protractor and Pitch & Roll depend on your accelerometer, including whatever bias and drift it has. Readings are relative to how your phone is held, and to any offset you have calibrated.
- Compass shows magnetic north, not true north, and does not correct for magnetic declination. Nearby metal, magnets, speakers, cases and electronics will deflect it. Do not use it for navigation.
- Sound Meter is uncalibrated. It converts a relative microphone level into an approximate decibel figure, and phone microphones vary widely and compress loud sound. It must not be used to assess noise exposure, hearing risk, or compliance with any regulation or workplace limit.
- Colour Picker reports what the camera sensor recorded under your lighting, which is not the same as the true colour of the object. It is not a colorimeter and is not suitable for colour matching.
- Document Scanner captures and processes a photo. It does not certify, authenticate or verify any document.
- Text Scanner recognises text automatically and will make mistakes. Always check the output against the original.
Health and safety
The Flashlight has strobe modes that flash rapidly. Do not use them if you or anyone nearby has photosensitive epilepsy or is sensitive to flashing light. Never shine the light or point the strobe into anyone’s eyes, and never use it while driving or where it could dazzle a driver.
The app is not a medical device and none of its tools may be used to diagnose, treat or monitor any health condition.
The Morse Code tool and the flashlight’s SOS pattern are provided for learning and convenience. Do not rely on them in an emergency. Use a real distress signal and call emergency services.
Prolonged camera, torch or sensor use will drain your battery and may warm the device. Do not use the app in a way that distracts you from your surroundings.
Scanned content
The app shows you what a code or document contains; it does not vet it. A QR code or barcode can encode a link to a malicious or fraudulent website, and anyone can print one. Treat scanned links with the same caution as any link from an unknown source — opening one is your decision.
Your content
Photos you capture, text you recognise, measurements you take and results you save are yours. They stay on your device and we claim no rights over them. We never receive them, so we cannot recover them for you if you lose them — clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it deletes them permanently.
You are responsible for having the right to photograph or scan whatever you point the camera at, and for respecting other people’s privacy and any local law on recording.
The app itself
The app — its design, code and arrangement — belongs to Dhondooo. It includes third-party open-source components, which remain under their own licences. All trade marks belong to their owners.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use the app to photograph, scan or record anyone without their consent where consent is required
- present its readings as certified, professional or official measurements
- decompile, modify or redistribute the app, except as your local law permits
- use the app for anything unlawful
Availability
The app is provided as is. We do not promise it will be available, error-free, or compatible with every device — tools depend on hardware your phone may not have, and a tool will tell you when a required sensor is missing. We may change, add or remove features at any time.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Dhondooo is not liable for any loss, injury, damage or cost arising from your use of the app or from reliance on any reading, measurement or scan result it produces.
Nothing here limits rights you have under Pakistani consumer law that cannot be limited, or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law does not permit it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
